People with disabilities, people who are trans, people who are fat, and people of color all share the experience of being individuals at whom the public stares. Through words and images, Eli Clare explores the internal experiences of living in marked bodies and the external meanings of oppression and bodily difference.

Eli Clare has spoken around the United States at conferences, community events and colleges about disability, queer and trans identities, and social justice.  Clare is the author of a book of essays, Exile and Pride:  Disability, Queerness, and Liberation, a collection of poetry, The Marrow’s Telling: Words in Motion, and writes regularly at his blog.
