In the past two weeks alone, at least 14 people who were perceived to be part of the emo culture have been killed in Baghdad. Kids who dress in the emo clothing, a Western style of dress, and listen to emo punk music are often thought to be gay. The latest killings come after months of increased attacks, which may number as high as 100. Worldview talks with Scott Long, a fellow in the human rights program at Harvard Law School. He’s been tracking the issue in Iraq and across the Middle East for several years.
