How exactly does a curve ball curve? What’s going on with your body when you stretch?  How does a kernel of popcorn pop open? This program explains the science behind three common experiences at a baseball game: the physics of the curve ball with Dr. Porter Johnson, of the Illinois Institute of Technology; the anatomy of the stretch with Raquel Gonzales of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago; and the food science of Cracker Jack popcorn with Michael Staver of Kendall College.

This program is presented in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events as part of Chicago Science Expedition “Two Weeks Worth of “Wow”!

Recorded Saturday, September 30, 2006 at The Notebaert Nature Museum.
