Not much has changed in the daily lives of those living in Ecuador over the last 40 years. Over 65 percent of the population today in Ecuador lives below the poverty line, and nearly half of the children under 5 suffer from malnutrition.

Zully Alvarado is the founder of Causes for Change International–an organization that works with women, children, and the disabled in Ecuador.
