Global Activism: Chicago group provides training for autism services in countries where the disorder often goes undiagnosed

Recent studies estimate that globally, about 1 in 100 people have autism.  But in developing countries, many know nothing of the developmental disorder and services are minimal. The city of Delhi, India has just two diagnosticians.  That’s why autism educator Christopher Flint started the Chicago based Autism Awareness Campaign Through International Organizations Networking, or AACTION Autism. We’ll talk with Christopher about the organization’s efforts to improve perceptions and treatment of the disorder in developing countries.
