We’ll revisit another group we’ve featured on our Global Activism series.

Matanya’s Hope is an organization that supports the education of Kenyan student through scholarships and community development projects. Michelle Stark is the founder of Matanya’s Hope, and we talked with her last August about her organization.

One of the main organizations that Matanya’s Hope has partnered with in Kenya is the Maasai Buffalo Dance and Cultural Change Group. The Maasai are an indigenous ethnic group in Kenya and northern Tanzania.  They are known around the world for their bright red clothing and music.

We were lucky enough to have the Maasai Buffalo Dance and Cultural Change Group to perform at our Global Activism Expo last week. And we invited the dancers and Michelle Stark into our studios to give us an update on Matanya’s Hope in Kenya.

Michelle Stark told me why she decided to bring the Maasai dancers to Chicago.
