It’s Thursday, and time for our Global Activism series. Each Thursday we hear about an individual who’s decided to work to make the world a better place.

In 2007, we heard from Global Activist Ian Edelstein about his efforts to create the first baseball team made up of players from South Africa‘s black townships to compete in the country’s baseball leagues.

Ian is Executive Director of Township Baseball Academy, located just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. And he’s back in Chicago to participate in the Beyond Sports Summit, taking place this week. It’s a gathering designed to celebrate, promote and drive forward sport-led social change.

And Ian stopped by to give us an update on his work.
