Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner wants Democratic leaders to act on a bill to eliminate one big roadblock for ex-prisoners who want to get their lives on track. Inmates who leave prison often struggle to get a state ID. 

A bill that would require the state to give people IDs when they leave prison is stuck in a House committee. WBEZ’s Patrick Smith reports.
