How many consumer decisions are made based on a pitch, a testimonial or a company claim? Law schools use post-graduate employment numbers to attract students—and those statistics have gotten some schools in trouble. Chicago’s John Marshall Law School is among more than a dozen facing class action lawsuits claiming they used inflated job numbers to get more people to enroll.

Staci Zaretsky, an editor of the popular legal blog, “Above the Law,” helped Eight Forty-Eight examine the state of the legal profession. Zaretsky graduated from law school in 2010 and struggled to find a job in her field. Listeners shared their perspectives and experiences too.
