A new political action committee is running ads against Republican Bruce Rauner even though the Illinois governor is not up for election. 

The ad highlights controversial statements Donald Trump has said and how months ago, Rauner said he’s supporting the Republican nominee for president. Rauner has denounced some comments made by Trump and has hardly said anything about his party’s nominee.

Democratic State Senator Daniel Biss says this PAC will help counter the large amounts of money Rauner has put into Republican statehouse campaigns.
