It did not take a ton of research but instead the lessons of his life informed Chicago historian Richard Lindberg’s latest book. Lindberg explored the Swedish-American experience in Chicago in his book Whiskey Breakfast: My Swedish Family, My American Life. For Lindberg, it was long overdue and cathartic therapy. WBEZ’s Jason Marck recently sat down with Lindberg, who began by explaining that keeping things hidden is part of Swedish culture.
