Julius Rosenwald, president of Sears, built the Rosenweld apartment building on 47th street and Michigan Avenue in 1930. The building housed blacks in Bronzeville as part of the great migration.

For a decade, the building has been a hulking, vacant eyesore.

Today, it reopened as affordable housing and senior housing. Rents range from $760 per month to $900 per month.
