Gas prices are on the rise, with dire predictions that Chicagoans could soon pay $4 or more per gallon. According to the American Auto Association, the average cost per gallon in Illinois is $3.62. In 2010, it was under $3 a gallon. That price can make owning a car an impractical option for many. But the impact of rising gas prices doesn’t end there.
