Since that first tweet Twitter has amassed more than 600 million users, with 240 million active every month.
To celebrate its beginning, Twitter launched a tool Thursday that lets all its users do the same thing by looking up their first tweets. Since then the social network has been flooded with digital nostalgia as users reflect on their first interaction with what has become a major part of communication on the Internet.
We wanted to take a look at how prominent Chicagoans used their first tweet, so we put together a list of the biggest names and other interesting accounts. Let us know if there’s anyone you think we should add
