In one of his first moves as head of the Chicago Public Schools, Ron Huberman is shaking up two schools. He’s removing the principals of Julian High School and Oglesby Elementary, both on the south side.

Clarice Berry is the head of the principals association. She says the group???s attorneys are looking into Huberman’s decision.

BERRY: It’s a very serious action. It’s serious for the persons involved, it’s serious for the school—they’ve lost their leader—local school council has lost the person they’ve chosen. So we are concerned.

In a statement, Huberman says he removed the principals due to safety and academic concerns. CPS didn’t return a call seeking details.
