From contributor M Hunter I am lucky enough to be married to a woman who loves football, and we’ve been watching the NFL Scouting Combine, which is basically a big job interview for the pro football level. Not only do these young men have to run drills, but they also get interviewed. Each of the 32 teams talks to everyone to see just where the young man’s head is.. They’re investing millions, so it behooves them to be extra careful. Will the potential, demonstrated through playing in college, translate into production? What’s one of the most frustrating things about all the resumes sent out, and interviews that come to nothing, and the time and effort put in is that you KNOW what you can do. You KNOW how’d you’d react if this or that happened.‚  You’ve been through scenarios in your head. All you want is a chance. You want to show that you can produce. How do you get a chance to show that The Internet and entire sections of your local bookstore have tons of answers to that, and ultimately, it can either be up to you or far beyond your control. Luckily, you don’t have to be at the NFL Combine to get drafted. But all anyone wants to do is to be able to show that the potential we all have can be translated into results wherever we end up working.
