Black History Month at Chicago State University begins with the opening of this new permanent photography exhibit applauding the contributions and accomplishments of Illinois’ African American legislators.  The first of its kind in the state, this exhibit - under the direction of Dr. Erma Brooks Williams - provides a history of Illinois African-American lawmakers who have served and are serving in the Illinois General Assemby. 

This event includes remarks by Monroe Anderson, Merri Dee, Elnora Daniel, Peggy Montes, Lawrence McCrank, Julianna Richardson, Christopher Reed, Illinois State Senate President Emil Jones, Jr., and Chairman for the Illinois House Black Caucus Marlow Colvin.
