A new Illinois law going into effect in 2017 mandates that all drivers ed courses must include instruction on how to behave during a police stop. The bill doesn’t say that drivers must be taught their rights during a police stop. But a spokesperson for the Secretary of State said the driving manual includes information on where to report any concerns about a police interaction.
