If you aren’t planning to cast a vote tomorrow, you may want to reconsider. With the way this year’s races are shaping up, a handful of votes could well make all the difference. Across the state, congressional races are neck and neck. That’s quite the change for our historically democratic state. So will we see a red tide sweep over Illinois tomorrow? And how will it reflect what’s happening in the rest of the country? Alan Gitelson, political science professor from Loyola University, offers some insight.

Alan will be us again tomorrow night for our election coverage. He and a number of other guests will join WBEZ’s Steve Edwards for coverage of all the major races in Illinois. That begins at 7 p.m.
