Illinois Employees Union Wants To Restart Contract Negotiations With Governor

Illinois’ largest government employee union wants to restart contract negotiations with Governor Bruce Rauner. In a new letter to the governor, AFSCME claimed to give some ground on a few sticking points in an effort to restart negotiations. Rauner’s office calls the letter “superficial.” If an impasse is officially declared in court, AFSCME would have to either accept Rauner’s offer or strike.
