A long-time Illinois state representative from Chicago is stepping down. Monique Davis spent 29 years as a state representative. She served parts of Chicago’s far south side along with suburban Blue Island and Alsip. Davis submitted her resignation in late December, less than two months after winning re-election. Now, local Democratic Party officials will get to appoint her replacement.
