Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and Honorary Co-Chairs Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle invite everyone from all walks of life – young, old and in-between — to be inspired and envision peace for our streets, schools, neighborhoods, communities and cities.

The Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, a recognized global leader in peace initiatives and the highest leader of Shambhala, will kick off a four-city international speaking tour with a weekend-long event, Imagining Peace, hosted by The Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago, focused on how peace can be fostered at the individual, community and societal levels.

The Sakyong will open the weekend-long conference on Friday evening, April 26, 2013 at Rockefeller Chapel with an opening talk: Creating Enlightened Society. The Sakyong will guide an inspiring contemplation on recognizing the Shambhala principle of the inherent goodness in all beings and reflecting on how we can apply this principle amidst the challenges of our daily life and societal issues.

We all dream of peace – let’s make it happen together!
