In The K/Now: The Gay Marriage Debate

Chicago is considered a gay-friendly city, yet gay Chicagoans are turning to other states to say “I Do”. For many couples the issue is considered a personal matter and a violation of equal rights. But for others the idea of same-sex marriage defies religious beliefs and moral values. Why has this topic become so controversial? Will Illinois ever follow Iowa’s lead in the Midwest? And will gay Chicagoans ever get to exchange vows in their hometown?
