Indiana officials are on high alert following a series of highway sniper shootings.

The shootings took place near Muncie on Interstate 69. No one was injured.

But another attack on I-65 near Seymour killed one man and another person was slightly injured.

Police are testing ballistics evidence to determine how many and what type of weapons were used.

Interstate 65 runs through Lake County, Indiana.

Sheriff Roy Dominguez says his department has not received word that the area could be at risk.

He says his officers are doing routine patrols of the highway.

Digital highway signs along I-65 in Merrillville asks motorist to report any suspicious activity to the state police.
