Infamous Sports Writer Jay Mariotti's Exit

Chicago Sun-Times sports columnist Jay Mariotti's sharp tongue and critical comments put him at odds with everyone and anyone. As a columnist for the Rocky Mountain News in the 80s, he famously called illustrious Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway greedy. And he threw potshots at his own colleagues at the Sun-Times. This week though, Mariotti threw in the towel. He resigned from the Sun-Times where he's worked for the past 17 years. Mariotti blamed the flailing newspaper industry for his departure, saying he doesn't see a future in print.

With us now to talk about this controversial figure and how his departure reflects the changing face of sports journalism is our very own Cheryl Raye-Stout.
