International Piano Duos Compete In Evanston

Over the past couple of days, piano duos from around the world have been performing as part of the Chicago International Duo Piano Competition. Two pianists sit at separate Steinway grand pianos facing each other. Claire Aebersold and her husband Ralph Neiweem are directors of the Music Institute of Chicago. They organized the duos competition. Players can’t see each other’s hands, so they rely on sound and physical cues.
