Howdy Y’all!

Well for the past five years Radio M has celebrated Independence Day the only way it knows how-musically. Host Tony Sarabia decided to devote the show closest to the 4th of July to what many call “America’s Music” So on that first year he brought in loads of his favorite country music; from Conway Twitty and Hank Snow to Loretta Lynn and Mother Maybelle Carter.

Then he decided it would add extra fun to the special show to invite Chicago musicians who not only have a love for country but play the music, or have some connection to country music. Past guests on the Radio M 4th of July Country Twang Show: Robbie Fulks, Kelly Hogan, Barry Phipps, and last year the fantastic and funny duo of Janet Bean and Catherine Irwin of the band Freakwater.

This year it’s Lawrence Peters. Peters is a drummer  and singer with the band The Lawrence Peters Outfit. He’s loved country music since he was a kid growing up in Denver. After a detour into punk rock, he came back to country and over the years he’s accumulated quite a collection of country 45’s. His collection includes many obscure artists. Tonight, Lawrence plays a mix of the obscure and  some bigger names of country music.

So get ready for some boot scootin” on the annual Radio M 4th of July Country Music Twang Show.
