Join the Neighborhood Writing Alliance (NWA) and the Jane Addams Senior Caucus (JASC) in a celebration and reading of work developed by JASC members during a 10-week NWA workshop, which drew inspiration from family history, personal experience, and neighborhood issues. We look forward to sharing the reflections on culture, race, social justice, and healing. The event is free and open to the public; refreshments and free copies of the Journal of Ordinary Thought will be available.

The Jane Addams Senior Caucus (JASC) is a grassroots organization of Chicago-area older adults organizing to build relationships, develop leaders, educate people, and create the power necessary for older adults to play a central role in determining their quality of life. Their primary goal is to develop senior leadership and organized power for social justice.

The Neighborhood Writing Alliance provokes dialogue, builds community, and promotes change by creating opportunities for adults in Chicago’s underserved neighborhoods to write, publish, and perform works about their lives. These works are published in the award-winning Journal of Ordinary Thought.
