The Neighborhood Writing Alliance (NWA) is excited to announce “Shell and Yolk,” the Spring 2011 issue of the Journal of Ordinary Thought. This issue features prose and poetry from Albany Park and King Branch Libraries, parents from Dumas Technology Academy and Nicholson Technology Academy, and San Lucas Church of Humboldt Park. Photographs by Jason Reblando accompany the writing. NWA programming represents the richness, complexity, and the diversity of the Chicago arts and literary community. NWA provides ongoing opportunities for adults in Chicago’s underserved neighborhoods to engage in the literary arts through writing workshops, the publication of the Journal of Ordinary Thought (JOT), and public readings and events.

Recorded Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at San Lucas Church.
