In 2006, Chicago Bauhaus and Beyond, a non-profit organization that celebrates and promotes 20th-century modern architecture and design, contacted legendary photographer Julius Shulman to record Chicago’s modernist residential architectural heritage.

Gary Gand, author and Vice President of Chicago Bauhaus and Beyond, discusses Shulman’s final book project before his death in 2009, which documents modern masterpieces by Edward Dart, Bertrand Goldberg, Paul Schweikher, Edward Humric, Harry Weese, and others.

Recorded Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Chicago Architecture Foundation.
