Kanye West is well-known for speaking his mind. From his infamous comments during NBC’s Hurricane Katrina telethon to his Taylor Swift snub during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the former Chicagoan is always good for a sound bite.

Last night West used his @kanyewest Twitter feed to share some thoughts with his 5.8 million followers.

He began by attempting to explain his rocky career as a fashion designer:

He went on to detail the course of his fashion career thus far, mentioning stints in Japan, Rome and Paris, sneaker collaborations with Louis Vuitton and a secret 4 month internship at Fendi. He says that even as a child he was inspired by his mother’s fashion sense and got in trouble for drawing Nike designs in 4th grade.

West claims to feel frustrated because he is “boxed in” by his fame and says he wants to use his position to help improve people’s lives. He says he plans to do this by launching an ambitious design company called DONDA, named after his late mother, Donda West.

West goes on to say that his company will be comprised of “over 22 divisions” and aims to pick up “where Steve Jobs left off.” West invites “amazing powerful smart talented wealthy people to be involved” and mentions a new design for summer schools he and film director Spike Jonze have cooked up. He also mentions a sci-fi project to be released this year called “2016 Olympics.” It’s not clear what form this project will take, but it could be a film shown on seven adjacent screens.

While West admits much of this soliloquy is off the cuff, he closes out his Tweets with an email address for people who want to get involved with DONDA, and this quote attributed to George Bernard Shaw:

“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”
