A men’s shelter that was on the brink of closing is now welcoming homeless guests again.

The Interim Men’s Housing Program in Uptown was going to close because it couldn’t raise much-needed private funds last year, but a last minute donation saved it.

The shelter started taking in guests on Tuesday and will likely be back at its capacity — 72 people — in February.

Meanwhile, an influx of other donations have allowed the program to increase staff and undertake renovations.
