According to CPL, The Enchantress of Florence is an irreverent, vivid and dazzling tale of a mysterious and beautiful woman attempting to command her own destiny in a man’s world.‚  But before the Reading got underway, Rushdie had to respond to the announcement made earlier that day that another one of his books, Midnight’s Children, had been named the greatest Booker Prize winner ever.
