Listen in: Salman Rushdie visits Chicago

Salman Rushdie was at the Chicago Public Library last week to read from his new novel, The Enchantress of Florence. According to CPL, The Enchantress of Florence is an irreverent, vivid and dazzling tale of a mysterious and beautiful woman attempting to command her own destiny in a man's world.‚  But before the Reading got underway, Rushdie had to respond to the announcement made earlier that day that another one of his books, Midnight's Children, had been named the greatest Booker Prize winner ever. Missed it? Don't worry! We recorded the event and posted the audio for you - visit Chicago Public Radio's Chicago Amplified to hear the entire Reading, including the Q&A with the audience.‚  While there, be sure checkout the huge audio archive of public events, lectures and discussions.
