In his lecture, Dr. Charles Mabee, Professor and Director of M.Div. program at Ecumenical Theological Seminary, Detroit, argues that contrary to popular imagery, the book of Revelation is not about divine retribution but a cautionary tale about human violence and war. Mabee invites attendees to re-imagine the origins of the impulse of war and to reconsider “the path (to peace) not taken.” Raven Foundation Founder, Suzanne Ross, introduces this lecture.

Sponsored by the Raven Foundation, Making Peace with Revelation explored the paths to peace illuminated in the Book of Revelation. Attendees spent the morning deepening their understanding of the book of Revelation and how it illuminates the path to peace. In the afternoon, on-the-ground peace workers provided examples of their successes in creating a more peaceful world.
