Mali is a sparsely populated land locked country in West Africa but it’s contribution to music is enormous. This week on Radio M we survey some of the Malian sounds in honor of Malian Independence Day. You’ll hear griot music, desert blues, rap and Wassolou funk, played on balafon, djembe, kora, ngoni and of course guitar.
