Mayor candidates may also be fighting bad reputations

Previous Next

For those following Chicago’s mayoral race, the new year seems to have brought a narrowing of the field. The front runners in the race are now four: Carol Moseley Braun, Gery Chico, Miguel Del Valle and Rahm Emanuel.

Each has their own baggage. Moseley Braun still carries the tarnish of her Senate career. Rahm Emmanuel is the Washington insider, Chico is pegged as Daley’s man and Del Vallee can’t seem to get any media attention. But does baggage equal weakness or opportunity?

Host Alison Cuddy hosted guest to discuss whether these candidates can turn a bad rep into a good political rep. Writer Rebecca Sive and political commentator Lenny McAllister joined the conversation. Sive works as a women's issue strategist and a contributor for the Huffington Post. Allister is the host of WVON's "Launching Chicago with Lenny McAllister."
