For those following Chicago’s mayoral race, the new year seems to have brought a narrowing of the field. The front runners in the race are now four: Carol Moseley Braun, Gery Chico, Miguel Del Valle and Rahm Emanuel.

Each has their own baggage. Moseley Braun still carries the tarnish of her Senate career. Rahm Emmanuel is the Washington insider, Chico is pegged as Daley’s man and Del Vallee can’t seem to get any media attention. But does baggage equal weakness or opportunity?
