Campaigns may be serious things but face it – you can’t have politics without a bit of personality! Candidates need to connect to voters, and successful leaders need to show a bit of humility. With that in mind, WBEZ’s Sam Hudzik decided to investigate a previously untested aspect of Chicago’s candidates for mayor: their humor. Hudzik asked each candidate to tell him their favorite jokes.

Hudzik presented the jokes he recorded over the weekend at the live variety show The Paper Machete in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Hear jokes from all of the candidates and another former mayor (for a week, at least), David Orr at The City Room Blog.
