On Monday’s Afternoon Shift, we talk with a few people who started in one career and are now crossing over into something completely different.

First up in John Conroy, the local journalist who doggedly pursued the allegations of police torture connected to former Chicago police commander Jon Burge. Now, more than 20 years since his first article on this story was published, Conroy has adapted his knowledge of police torture to the stage- a much different venue than a newspaper. Conroy talks with Steve Edwards about making the jump from page to stage.

Bill Bradley’s first career was as a Hall of Fame basketball player. Just one year after retiring, he ran for the U.S. Senate and won. He stops by to talk about his life in politics and on the court.
