On Monday’s Afternoon Shift we’ll talk about sacred spaces. First Pamay Bassey will talk about her journey through 52 weeks of different houses of worship.

Later Lee Bey will discuss the attempt to bestow landmark status on former film palace the Portage Theater. A local church wants to buy the theater and convert it to a sanctuary. Preservationists say it’s already sacred.

Finally we’ll talk with the person in charge of selling Chicago’s specialness to outsiders- Don Welsh, the head of the Convention and Tourism Board.
