November was a month of trials, tribulations and tests: Mayor Emanuel and Cook County Board President Preckwinkle had their budgets approved, Gov. Quinn continued to wait for the green light for his budget, Rod Blagojevich’s ally, Tony Rezko, was sentenced to more than 10 years for corruption and the owners of the South Loop E2 nightclub got a reprieve. The death of Maggie Daley on Thanksgiving cast a somber tone over the holidays but overall, the mood throughout November tended to be a little more feisty.

Eight Forty-Eight welcomed a panel of journalists to discuss November’s headlines and more for its Month in Review. David Greising regularly discusses business news on Eight Forty-Eight and he is a reporter with the Chicago News Cooperative, Mary Ann Ahern is a political reporter for NBC 5 and Tracy Baim is publisher and executive editor of the Windy City Media Group.
