On the last Friday of the month, Eight Forty-Eight served up the latest edition of the Month in Review. July made its statement via crazy weather—from derechos to monsoon-like rains. Plus, it was hot, which made the rest of the news unbearable – from shootings in the streets to city layoffs. To help sort through the month that was, Eight Forty-Eight was joined by three finely-tuned instruments of the news: WBEZ’s own Richard Steele, Meribah Knight from the Chicago News Cooperative and writer and commentator, Ron Litke.
