Poet Cecilia (CeCe) Tate, 16, is a sophomore at Curie Metro High and competed in Louder Than a Bomb 2011 as a member of team Lyrical Revolution representing her high school.

My Story is CeCe’s personal story of her mother and views of growing up. Here she explores the struggles she faced mentally with her mother’s neglect, particularly in CeCe’s early years.

Though everyone knows the points are not the point – the point is the poetry – congratulations to CeCe, who was selected as an Indy Finalist in the 2011 competition which celebrated over 600 young writers.
