The consumer market has come to love the miniaturization process.  A Palm Pilot purchased today has more computing power than personal computers had 20-25 years ago.  This innovative boom has come out of nanotechnology, a realm of science that deals with objects that are smaller than 100nm in their largest dimension.  Scientists at the forefront of nano-related research discuss the fundamentals of this small but important size regime, including its impacts on emerging technologies, and its future application in all aspects of our lives.

This program is presented in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events as part of Chicago Science Expedition “Two Weeks Worth of “Wow”!
