Netherfriends comes down to one man - musician Shawn Rosenblatt. Rosenblatt’s not only a one-man band—he’s a touring machine. Within the past year or so, he finished an album— Barry and Sherry and he completed his “50 songs in 50 States” project. Eight Forty-Eight caught up with him somewhere in the middle of that trip. On a blustery cold January day, Rosenblatt made his way to WBEZ’s Jim and Kay Mabie Performance Studios. Before chatting about his work, he performed a song from his newest album.

Catch Netherfriends Sunday, July 31 at the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. And Friday, July 29, his summer project of love, Ladyfriends, is at the Viaduct Theatre on Western Avenue in Chicago.
