James O’Shea is the author of the new book The Deal from Hell: How Moguls and Wall Street Plundered Great American Newspapers. He is co-founder of the Chicago News Cooperative. But before that, he was an editor at the Chicago Tribune and editor-in-chief of the Los Angeles Times. That company finds itself approaching its third year in bankruptcy, with its reputation in tatters. The Tribune’s rise and fall is told in O’Shea’s new book. He joined Steve Edwards to discuss the book.
