The weather is no detriment to Chicago’s mayoral candidates, who continue to campaign in all corners of the city. There was little downtime for a number of candidates this weekend.

On Saturday, former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun spoke at a tribute to the late Dr. Margaret Burroughs, founder of the DuSable Museum.

Moseley Braun also attended the Chicago Housing Authority seniors Christmas party. She saw candidates state Senator James Meeks and Congressman Danny Davis there, too.

City Colleges Chairman Gery Chico met voters in Chinatown Saturday and then braved the elements to mingle with voters in Logan Square Sunday.

City Clerk Miguel del Valle held a voter registration drive.

And former White House Chief of Rahm Emanuel was busy, too. In addition to multiple events, including stops in Beverly and Hyde Park, his campaign responded to a Sun-Times inquiry about documents submitted for ballot challenges against his residency. Emanuel filed a tax return indicating he lived in Illinois for only part of 2009, before amending the return later. His campaign said the documents prove he meets residency requirements.

Emanuel faces ballot challenge hearings this week.
