Many Cameroonian women have expectations that life in Europe will be better than in their home country. This film explores their persistence in obtaining the necessary papers to remain in countries to which they immigrate, often by securing a European partner through the internet. Consequences and complications often follow.

North-South.com is part of the Center for Black Diaspora’s Winter Quarter film series “Cinema: Transnational Subjects, African & Black Diaspora Immigrant Experiences”. The films cover a wide scope of discussion on the Diaspora in little known places like Iran, as well as the migration to places in Europe and the Americas.

Recorded Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at DePaul University - Richardson Library - Rosati Room 300.
