Outgoing interim CPS chief shares some parting words
Terry Mazany wrapped up his brief time as interim CEO of Chicago Public Schools this week. He believes that the incoming team shares his focus on high standards, strong curriculums, investment in quality teaching and great principal leadership.
When he spoke to Eight Forty-Eight’s Alison Cuddy, he expressed concern over the false dichotomy between charter schools and traditional schools. The present focus is on governance of schools in those models, he said, keeps the heart of their work—developing high-quality teachers and supporting them to deliver great instruction in the classroom—at arms-length.
