Access Living’s Arts and Culture Project and Bodies of Work proudly present OUTTAKES, the fourth annual Disability Culture Cabaret. The Cabaret will include a selection of poetry readings, comedy sketches, and performances by five poets and performers with disabilities. Guest performer Ann Stocking will headline the event.

An actress from Los Angeles, California, Stocking is one of the first disabled people to be accepted into and graduate from a major acting program in the United States, earning a degree from UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film, and Television with a master’s in acting. Stocking has performed at some of Los Angeles’ finest theatres, including the Mark Taper Forum, the Falcon Theatre, the Geffen Playhouse and the Theatre @Boston Court. She has performed her solo work at REDCAT theatre in the new Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and for a sold-out crowd at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Stocking’s mission is to play disabled characters with accuracy and depth, and to continue to be cast in roles that are not disability-specific.

OUTTAKES also celebrates disability arts culture with local artists: Pennie Brinson will present three poems about her relationship with poetry; David Jones will deliver two poems about dating as a disabled LGBT person; Matthew Ramirez will read a selection of poems titled “Living/AfterLiving”; Mike Ervin will perform a sketch titled “Beware my Joystick”; and Gary Arnold will present a mix of humor and drama in his piece “Primary Education.”
