The buzz about the changes at Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs—which will be merged into the mayor’s Office of Special Events at the end of the month—and the subsquent resignation of its longtime head Lois Weisberg, inspired this week’s Paper Machete.

We asked Carrie Kaufman to speak about the future of Chicago’s cultural scene in the wake of the transformations at the Department of Cultural Affairs. Kaufman is publisher of PerformInk Newspaper, Chicago’s theatre and film trade paper.

Recorded live at Ricochet’s. Paper Machete can be seen live at Ricochet’s, every Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Note: because the show took place before Weisberg’s stepped down, some of the audio has been edited for relevancy.
